Working with clay is personal – I experience each piece I create in a unique way. Using varying types of clay, I create distinct shapes through both hand building and wheel throwing. Textures, stamps and carved designs are also used to create interest and add beauty to each piece. Glaze combinations are endless and finding the perfect blend of colors is an important part of my creative process. I enjoy getting my hands dirty and letting my creative energy flourish. Yes, I love working with clay – and I value the peace, joy and simple pleasure that making handmade pottery creates.
Pottery with Personality
What inspires me? I enjoy creating something unique – inspired by nature, culture, wonderful textures, vintage lace, an array of glorious colors and the addition of small details and finishing touches that make each piece something really special.
Living in New Orleans, I find inspiration all around me. From the Fleur de Lis, to the colors that are found in our vibrant bayous, this city is as diverse as its incredible culture.
