My name is Dennise Tabony and I am a potter.  I have lived in New Orleans for over 47 years and love the diversity of the city, its people, culture and history.  While we are known for our great food, hospitality, jazz music, Mardi Gras, and the beautiful landscape of our bayous and wildlife  – we are also known for our art and love for celebrating our city through personal expression.

I have always wanted to work with clay – but working a full time job and raising my son and daughter made juggling my time challenging.  Now that our kids are grown, I am now able to focus on my love for  pottery.  In fact, I finally realized a long time dream of having my own home pottery studio. I absolutely love having my own creative space, large kiln, slab roller, pottery wheel, glazing station, and an incredible work table built by my son.   Attached to my home, my studio provides ample opportunity for creativity and the ability to experiment with new ideas and techniques.

Take a look around the site, follow me on Facebook and Instagram, and feel free to drop me a line.

The She Shed is my pottery studio with plenty of counters, storage and space to invite guests to work on projects.  You can see that I have a large collection of vintage lace and doilies for texture, along with wonderful rollers, stamps and embellishments.  My pottery wheel and large kiln make project possibilities endless – and I am loving every moment!
